That is exactly why college cost so much because the fucking government pays for so much of it already and then student loans, everyone says you need to go to college but never mention hey maybe you shouldn't if its going to cost 100k, they just keep getting loans anyways.

How would it? I said you use the money that goes to federal grants for colleges and students, get rid of that shit and replace it with this. Each student right now gets like 6k in federal grant money, that would more than pay for it.

If you took 6k x Ohio State's student body alone it would probably pay for it. That is 264,000,000 by itself.

Do you think University of Phoenix's annual budget is over 264 million?

It would save us shitloads of money to not pay for everyone's fucking expensive ass college for them and provide an alternative that anyone could use. Yes it is would be a giant social program but it would replace a social program that is 10 times bigger and it would be better because it would serve everyone that wanted to use it not just people that can afford college or people that want to take on massive debt.

So is the amount of money available capped then? if college is free, then you will likely see a large increase in people wanting to attend. are you going to stop that number at some point and say there is no more money fro students wanting to attend? i have no idea what the current budget grant money is, let along UofP's budget.

It would be online doofus, you could have 10000 students in 1 class for not much more than if 10 students were in 1 class, it would just take more bandwidth.
