I love how SEC is such a scumbag conference always poaching coaches from within the conference or trying to.

I think this may be the best hire they could have made. He has history there, he has a Top QB coming in. If Randy stays, he has a good recruiter. He has coached Tebow and Dak.

I am more worried about Mullen than I was about fluke prospect Chip Kelly.

Wow - does anyone here ever look at a resume. Mullen is doing that at Miss State. 8 straight bowl games. Look at that program before he got there.

You really think mullen is going to recruit at that level to even compete for a championship? Yeah the gators will improve but not to where they want to be. They will just be solid nothing spectacular

Kelly could have taken them to the promised land... or brought the death penalty down upon them.
Frost is a Kelly disciple, but only has 1 year of HC experience.

High risk with both of those.

Mullen should be good enough to average 10 wins at UF. He's no Meyer or Spurrier, but he's no Muffchomp* or Horsetooth, either.


*USCjr and Miss St did have the same record this year :thought USCjr may be in the easier division, but their OOC was much tougher

This is Frost's second year.

Some would argue that Florida was good because of Mullen and not Meyer. (Tebow and Harvin help as well. As does Charlie Strong) They fell apart after Mullen left and Addazio was promoted.

I like the hire. We know his offense can be dominate at Florida. Is a consistent hand. If he can win 9 games at Miss State in the SEC West vs loaded programs, he can certainly win more at UF. It is a safe hire, and in the end probably the best bet. Not as much upside as Kelly, who backed out of our deal. But a smart hire.

He is bringing back Gonzalez to UF(mister post it note) who is a strong recruiter
Seider is being kept - strong recruiter and has done very well with RBs
Hevesy is back and seems Davis stays too. Not sure how we keep both? Maybe on coaches inside line, one outside and TE?
Keeping Rumph who is a strong recruiter and done well at Dline, only consistent position yearly for us.
Adding Buckley who is a strong recruiter as FSU fans know.

So he seems to have a strong recruiting staff which is a plus.

Not too excited about Grantham but it's similar to what Collins ran here, and worked decently for us.

Biggest key is he is bringing Savage. Guy learned under Meyer's S&C coach who was incredible. We really have sucked at S&C
