I would venture to guess since we don't know the details that we were doing offensive cyber attacks and hack attempts against them and it was probably brought up in peace negotiations, probably both sides agreeing to stop hack attempts.
That doesn't mean we can't be doing defense still which they said we are and nothing has changed on that. You realize the CIA/NSA and other agencies fuck around with everyone including our own citizens right?
“There is no greater priority to Secretary Hegseth than the safety of the Warfighter in all operations, to include the cyber domain,” the official told NBC News.
The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, which is housed in the Department of Homeland Security, said in a statement that it's "mission is to defend against all cyber threats to U.S. Critical Infrastructure, including from Russia. There has been no change in our posture."

This.
Who is actually saying we're "stopping cyber security against Russia"? :crazy
Or maybe Trump is a super-secret Russian agent, and Putin is actually the POTUS. But wait, isn't Elon Musk president?
Ugh... it's all so confusing! :banghead
But seriously, I don't know why we would do this unless Russia did the same. :dunno

Zelensky was asked to wear a suit and the whole deal was all but agreed on before hand and it was supposed to be a ceremonial type of event.
He didn't wear the suit and didn't sign the deal.
Then wanted to ask for security guarantees while on camera instead of what they already agreed about a ceasefire and the minerals deal.
Go watch Rubio and Vance explain it.
Also you get your news indirectly from MSNBC

According to The Guardian, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has received a new list of directives that largely omit Russia as a threat to monitor. Part of the Department of Homeland Security, CISA monitors cyber threats made to the United States.
These directives were listed out in a memo, which singled out China and the protection of local systems as priorities, according to the newspaper. The document, however, failed to mention Russia—despite the country previously being a seminal focus at the agency.
